Before the interview
- Write down your Big 3: 3 passions and 3 characteristics
- Prepare a list of interview questions with answers (and anecdotes to back them up)
- Practice, practice, practice
- Look into your interviewer’s background (LinkedIn, Google search, etc)
- Have questions for your interviewer
During the interview:
- Arrive early
- Dress business casual
- Bring your resume and offer a copy to the interviewer
- Be conversational
- Use storytelling to your advantage
- Don’t talk too fast
- Don’t get into the technical details of research or activities (unless asked) → emphasize the impact
After the interview:
- Send a thank you email to the interviewer
- Write down the things you did well and need to improve on while you still remember
- Relax because everything is out of your hands now!
- Start to prepare for your next interview.
